Australia Posts 487 Runs, Bowled Out in First Innings Against Pakistan
The home team picked up from their overnight score of 346-5, with opener David Warner’s resilient 164 on day one. Aamer Jamal, making his debut, claimed six wickets as Australia was dismissed for 487 on the second day of the inaugural Test in Perth on Friday.
Resuming at 346-5, David Warner’s heroic 164 from the first day, Mitchell Marsh at 16, and Alex Carey at 15 took the crease. Despite an untroubled innings, Marsh fell short of a fourth Test century, getting bowled by paceman Khurram Shahzad for 90 just after the lunch break.
Shahzad finished with figures of 2-83, but the limelight belonged to debutant Jamal, who shone with impressive figures of 6-111.
Pakistan has never clinched a Test series in Australia and hasn’t secured a Test victory in the country since 1995.
