Govt. Announces 14Rs Reduction in Petrol Price

The revised cost of petrol stands at Rs267.34/ltr starting December 16.

On Friday, the interim government implemented a substantial reduction in the petrol price, slashing it by Rs14 per litre, while the cost of high-speed diesel witnessed a decrease of Rs13.5, now priced at Rs276.21/litre. This adjustment was communicated through an official notification from the finance division.

These revised rates will come into effect from December 16.

Kerosene oil also experienced a downturn, with a reduction of Rs10.14, resulting in a new price of Rs191.02 per litre. Simultaneously, the price of light diesel oil decreased by Rs11.29, reaching Rs164.64 per litre.

It’s noteworthy that the anticipation of a decline in petroleum product prices aligns with the recent downturn in international oil prices. The cost of crude oil in the global market decreased from $79 per barrel to $73 per barrel over the past few weeks.
