PMD Anticipates Cold Wave in Sindh and Balochistan Coastal Areas
CHAMAN: Following Balochistan’s initial winter snowfall, a cold wave is projected to impact Sindh and the coastal areas of Balochistan on Saturday evening.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) reported that various regions in Balochistan experienced their first winter snowfall, affecting mountain ranges such as Toba Achakzai, Toba Kakari, Ziarat, Kanjoghi, and Khwaja Amran.
Simultaneously, rain showered down on multiple districts, including Chaman, Pishin, Killa Abdullah, Ziarat, Muslim Bagh, and Chaghi. The PMD forecasts the continuation of rain until Saturday evening in north Balochistan.
The meteorological department added that the western wave responsible for the severe winter conditions in northeastern and central Balochistan will exit the region tomorrow.
“The mercury is expected to remain below the freezing point for two days in north Balochistan,” stated the met department.
On December 7, amidst the ongoing cold spell nationwide, Karachi experienced its coldest night of the winter season, with the mercury dropping to 13.5°C, as per the met department.
