Imran appeals IHC against cypher case in-camera trial

“Imran Khan Challenges In-Camera Trial in Cypher Case, Files Petition in Islamabad High Court”

On Wednesday, former Prime Minister Imran Khan submitted a petition to the Islamabad High Court, contesting the in-camera trial proceedings of the ongoing cypher case. The application urged the reversal of the special court’s decision to conduct the trial in-camera, and it sought a suspension of proceedings until a verdict is reached on this petition.

The petition, presented by PTI and represented by Barrister Salman Akram Raja, argued that the special court’s ruling on December 14 was in violation of the orders issued by the Islamabad High Court on November 21. Additionally, it contended that the special court’s directive to prohibit media coverage of the hearing contradicted the Constitution of Pakistan.
