Shan Masood Chooses Mohammad Rizwan Over Sarfaraz Ahmed, Citing Favorable Playing Condition

Pakistan Test Captain Shan Masood Clarifies Choice of Mohammad Rizwan Over Sarfaraz Ahmed in Melbourne Test

In a press conference on Monday, Pakistan Test captain Shan Masood emphasized that the decision to play wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan over Sarfaraz Ahmed in the second Test against Australia in Melbourne was influenced by the playing conditions. Masood stated, ‘Sarfaraz Ahmed had been rested.’ Addressing the team’s performance in Perth, Masood acknowledged that the side did not play up to their potential in the first two days, resulting in their defeat.

Masood stressed the importance of adopting a positive mindset, especially considering Pakistan’s limited exposure to Test matches. He highlighted the need for batters to switch gears and accelerate when required. Additionally, Masood underlined the disparity between Test cricket and the domestic circuit in terms of workload.
