PTI Challenges ECP Decision, Files Appeal in Peshawar High Court

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Challenges ECP Decision in Peshawar High Court
The political landscape intensifies as Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) challenges the Election Commission of Pakistan’s (ECP) decision declaring its intra-party elections null and void, leading to the withdrawal of its election symbol, the bat. PTI’s legal team, led by Barrister Gohar and Ali Zafar, filed an appeal in the Peshawar High Court (PHC) seeking the suspension of the ECP’s decision. They argue that the ECP’s decision is legally flawed and raises concerns about withdrawing an election symbol at the behest of an unrelated party.

Addressing a public gathering on Monday, the Awami National Party (ANP) Central Senior Vice President and former chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa expressed close scrutiny of PTI’s symbol troubles. He hinted at the possibility of a similar fate for ANP and emphasized that any decision should align with the constitution and laws of the country.”
