Shah Mahmood Qureshi’s arrest ‘VIDEO’ goes viral

The arrest of Pakistan’s former foreign minister, Shah Mahmood Qureshi, immediately after his release from Adiala prison on Wednesday, has sparked widespread attention as a video of the incident goes viral on social media.

In the footage, police officers can be seen detaining and overpowering Qureshi before he could step out of jail as a free man. The video has triggered a social media outcry, particularly due to the perceived manhandling of Qureshi.

The video captures Shah Mahmood Qureshi waving what appears to be a legal document before dozens of police officers who were preparing to re-arrest him.

As a police officer approached him, Qureshi began saying, “Today, they said to me…” but was interrupted mid-sentence. He repeatedly told the officer, “No, you cannot arrest me,” but the officer ignored his words and physically pushed him around.

Following the altercation, policemen escorted Qureshi towards a police armored van (APC) and drove him to an undisclosed location.

It is noted that Shah Mahmood Qureshi and Imran Khan had recently secured bail in the infamous cipher case. While Khan faced arrest in NAB cases with slim chances of release, Qureshi, who had no other pending cases, was expected to be released. However, the Rawalpindi deputy commissioner ordered his re-arrest under the Maintenance of Public Order (MPO) law over the weekend.

Sources reported to Aaj News that Qureshi has been arrested this time in connection with the GHQ attack case.

Additional clips show Qureshi delivering a speech before the police moved in to arrest him. Even as he was being bundled into the police armored vehicle, Qureshi maintained his innocence, emphasizing that the court had ordered his release.
