Mystery Behind “Noreen Ro Rahi Hai” Trend, REVEALED!!
A peculiar and rapidly spreading trend has captivated the Pakistani social media sphere. Since Tuesday night, a surge of posts under the hashtag “Noreen Ro Rahi Hai” (Noreen is weeping) has inundated various platforms, with a notable majority coming from supporters of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
Numerous individuals are expressing curiosity about the phenomenon, questioning the nature of the “Noreen Ro Rahi Hai” trend, seeking information on who Noreen is, and investigating the catalyst behind her alleged distress.
On X, formerly Twitter, the hashtag #نورین_رو_رہی_ہے has been featured in over 172,000 posts, underlining the widespread impact of this digital movement.
Adding to the intrigue, several videos have surfaced on YouTube, with one claiming to capture Noreen’s direct response to the trend.
Contextualizing “Noreen Ro Rahi Hai”:
The genesis of this trend coincided with a discussion on the ARY News program “The Reporters,” where journalist and political analyst Hasan Ayub shared insights on the intra-party election within the PTI.
Ayub, perceived as a pro-Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) journalist, pointed out during the show that newcomers in the PTI had risen to prominent positions, sidelining longstanding PTI members. He specifically mentioned Barrister Gohar, who joined the PTI in 2020, becoming the chairman, while a dedicated old-timer, Noreen Farooq Khan, was overlooked.
According to Ayub, Noreen Farooq Khan is now distressed, expressing her dissatisfaction with the fact that despite dedicating her entire life to the PTI from 1999 to 2024, a recent entrant to the party assumed the role of chairman. Ayub deemed this decision by Imran Khan as flawed and advocated for a fair election, even if it meant deviating from Khan’s personal choice.
When questioned about Noreen’s aspirations, Ayub asserted that she simply desires a fair election process.
Who is Noreen Farooq Khan?
Noreen Farooq Khan, the focal point of the “Noreen Ro Rahi Hai” trend, was previously associated with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) as the secretary in Punjab. However, reports indicate that she officially left the PTI on March 12, 2023, subsequently joining the Pakistan Muslim League-Q led by Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain.
A video circulating on social media features Chaudhry Ghulam Sarwar announcing Noreen Farooq Khan as one of the political activists making the transition from PTI to PML-Q. This move has prompted questions from PTI supporters regarding her loyalty to Imran Khan and the PTI.
Contrary to these reports, Noreen Farooq Khan claims that she never left the PTI and still holds the position of information secretary in the labor wing of the party.
Noreen is among those within the PTI who have contested the intra-party election conducted earlier in the month before the Election Commission of Pakistan. During a brief interaction with journalists outside the ECP, she explained that she had submitted a simple two-line application expressing her desire to participate in the election, citing her longstanding association with the party and the various roles she has undertaken.
