IHC directs authorities to conduct an identification parade for 34 Baloch students

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) issued an order on Wednesday for the conduct of an identification parade for 34 Baloch students who were arrested following a Baloch protest rally in the federal capital.

During the hearing of the case related to the arrest of Baloch students, the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) operations of Islamabad appeared in court.

Ataullah Kundi, the counsel representing the participants in the Baloch march, argued that when the Baloch march participants reached Islamabad, they were arrested. He further alleged that law enforcement agencies used water cannons, tear gas, and subjected the participants to physical torture.

Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb inquired about the number of Baloch protesters who were still under arrest, to which Kundi responded that 34 Baloch protesters were still in police custody.

According to the records presented, a total of 196 Baloch protesters were initially arrested, out of which 162 were granted bail. Kundi also mentioned that Zaheer Baloch was still missing.
