TLP election candidate fatally shot in Kharian

An election candidate from Tehrik-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP), Malik Saqib Nawaz, was fatally shot in Kharian on Wednesday morning while preparing to launch his campaign from PP-29. The incident occurred in the suburban village of Jalalpur Sobtiyan, and the motive is reported to be a land dispute with rivals.

Saqib Nawaz’s father, Muhammad Nawaz, filed a complaint, leading the police to register a case against seven accused. Two individuals have been arrested in connection with the incident. The police subsequently transferred the body to a hospital for post-mortem examination.

Malik Saqib Nawaz was a TLP candidate for the Punjab Assembly from the PP-29 constituency.
