Severe Cold Spell Expected in Islamabad & Surrounding Areas
Cold Weather Ahead for Islamabad and Adjacent Areas, PMD Predicts
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) anticipates mainly cloudy and cold weather for twin cities and adjoining areas as temperatures are expected to decrease.
According to the forecast, the weather will remain cold and dry across the country, with severe coldness expected in the upper areas. Some parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have recorded minimum temperatures ranging from -1 to -9 degrees Celsius, while Gilgit Baltistan has experienced temperatures between -9 to -5 degrees Celsius.
The advisory indicates that most districts in the province of Balochistan will experience cold and dry weather, with temperatures potentially dropping to -2 degrees Celsius.
In the northern areas, including Murree, Galiyat, and surrounding regions, the weather is expected to be very cold.
Conversely, Sindh province has recorded lower intensity in cold temperatures, with mercury levels up to 16 degrees Celsius. Some parts of the province may witness fog and smog in the early morning and late at night.
