According to the information submitted by the PML-N’s chief organizer alongside her nomination documents for the NA-119 constituency, Maryam owns more than 1500 kanals of land in Lahore. The details indicate a growth of just over Rs4 million in her assets within a year.
The documents disclose that Maryam holds a Master’s degree in English Literature. She does not have ownership of any vehicle and has a debt of more than Rs28.9 million owed to her brother, Hassan Nawaz.
In the submitted papers, the daughter of the three-time prime minister, Nawaz Sharif, mentioned possessing gold valued at Rs1.75 million. Additionally, she holds over Rs10 million in various bank accounts and has shares worth Rs12.2 million in different companies.
On December 30, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) gave approval to Maryam’s nomination papers from various constituencies.
A spokesperson for Maryam stated that her nomination papers for multiple Lahore and Sargodha constituencies were approved by the returning officers (ROs). However, it was added that she would contest the general elections from the constituencies determined by the party.
The scion of the Sharif family submitted nomination papers for two National Assembly constituencies — NA-119 and NA-120 — and four Punjab Assembly constituencies — PP-159, PP-160, PP-165, and PP-80.
