COAS, CENTCOM Chief Emphasize the Importance of Enhancing Training Interactions
Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir held a meeting with US Central Command (CENTCOM) chief General Michael Erik Kurilla, emphasizing the imperative to enhance training collaborations between the two entities, as per a statement from the military’s media wing.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) disclosed on Tuesday that discussions during the visit to Headquarters Central Command in Tampa Bay, Florida, encompassed matters of shared interests, with a particular focus on cooperation in regional security.
Both parties delved into potential joint training initiatives and “reiterated the need for boosting training interactions between CENTCOM and the Pakistan Army.”
During his visit, COAS Munir also toured the CENTCOM Joint Operations Center.
This marks the army chief’s inaugural visit to the US, where he has engaged with various US government and military officials, including Secretary of State Antony Blinken, Secretary of Defense General Llyod J Austin (retd), Deputy Secretary of State Victoria Nuland, Deputy National Security Adviser Jonathan Finer, and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Charles Q Brown.
On Monday, the State Department highlighted Pakistan’s status as a major non-NATO ally of the United States, expressing eagerness to collaborate closely with the South Asian nation.
