PPP Proposes Bilawal as Prime Ministerial Candidate
The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Central Executive Committee (CEC) convened on Wednesday and recommended the party Chairman, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, as its nominee for the position of prime minister following the completion of the election process and the establishment of a new government.
During the meeting at Bilawal House in Lahore, the PPP CEC extensively discussed the party’s strategy for the upcoming general election in February 2024. Bilawal is set to contest from NA-127 Lahore, where he will face competition from Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN) leader Shaista Pervaiz Malik and a PTI-backed candidate. The session also delved into the party’s election manifesto, emphasizing priorities such as youth and women empowerment, employment, health, and education.
Expressing unwavering confidence in the leadership of Asif Ali Zardari and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the CEC meeting was attended by PPP leaders, including Secretary General Taj Haider, Syed Khursheed Shah, Rana Farooq Saeed Khan, Qamar Zaman Kaira, Samina Khalid Ghurki, Murad Ali Shah, Chaudhry Aslam Gill, and Ali Badr.
