PTI Founder Called to Appear on January 9

Imran Khan, the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has been summoned by an Anti-Terrorism Court in Rawalpindi in connection with a case related to the May 9 riots. These riots involved attacks on military installations following the arrest of the former premier.

The summons are related to cases involving an assault on General Headquarters and the burning of pictures of martyrs. Imran Khan is identified as the primary accused in all cases related to the May 9 riots. Widespread violent clashes erupted across Pakistan following the arrest of the former Prime Minister on May 9, 2023.
