Renewal Fee Update Islamabad Driving License-December 2023
Operating a car, motorcycle, or any other vehicle without a valid driving license is forbidden throughout Pakistan, including the capital city of Islamabad.
Engaging in driving without acquiring the license or possessing an expired document can lead to legal consequences. It is obligatory for citizens to promptly renew their licenses to steer clear of any challenging situations.
The Islamabad Traffic Police facilitate a streamlined procedure for the renewal of car and motorcycle licenses if the application is submitted within three years of expiration.
In the event of renewal within three years of license expiry, the applicant must furnish certain documents. However, if the renewal is sought after the three-year period, the applicant is required to undergo both a theory and a driving test.
How to Renew Driving License in Islamabad?
The applicant can book an appointment online with the traffic police or can go for the walk-in system. Here is the process for the walk-in process;
Go to the Islamabad Traffic Police office and get a token after showing your original CNIC card at the reception.
Proceed with the biometric verification and photo capturing
Wait for your turn, go to the counter, and fill the form you are given by the official
Attach the required documents to the form and submit it to them
Pay the license renewal fee
Get the confirmation slip that carries the date for receiving of the license

Two passport-sized photographs.

Islamabad Driving License Renewal Fee
As of December 22, 2023, the fee for renewal of license within one year of expiry including Nadra verification fee stands at Rs1149 while Rs1,949 will be charged after one to three years of its expiration. After three years of expiry, the applicant will have to take driving and theory tests and pay a fee of Rs4,649.
