Snowfall Covers Upper Regions of Chitral & Upper Dir

Snowfall covered upper regions of Chitral, Battagram, and Upper Dir in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Sunday, leading to disruptions in activities in the mountainous areas.

Snowfall was observed in Lowari Tunnel, Lowari Top, Doog Dara, Garam Chashma, and Madaklasht.

“The northern half of the country, including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, and northern Punjab, is expected to receive slightly above-normal rainfall during the forecast month,” stated the Pakistan Meteorological Department’s Outlook for December.

Temperatures dropped to zero degrees Celsius in Chitral and -1 degree Celsius in Upper Dir.

Meanwhile, smog covered many parts of Punjab and KP, prompting authorities to block different sections of national highways and motorways.

The highway police have advised people to avoid unnecessary travel during foggy conditions and urged them to follow instructions to prevent any untoward incidents.
